Kate Vandeveld is a licensed clinical therapist with nearly a decade of experience. Her practice is built on the belief that healing is possible — and that you are already the expert on your own life.
Kate Vandeveld is a licensed clinical social worker serving clients via telehealth in New York. She specializes in trauma-informed, person-centered individual therapy.
Her goal is to meet you exactly where you are — to help you understand the experiences and influences that brought you there, and to work with you on the tools to get where you want to go. Meaningful change takes compassion and time. Kate brings both.
She holds a bachelor's from Wellesley College and a master's in Advanced Clinical Practice in Social Work from Columbia University. She spent nearly a decade as a therapist, advocate, mitigation specialist, and program coordinator at a criminal justice organization in New York City before moving to private practice.
Kate draws from a carefully integrated toolkit — methods grounded in research and adapted to fit you, not the other way around. No single approach works for everyone, and she is trained across multiple modalities so the work stays genuinely responsive.
The goal is never to fit you into a framework. It is to find the one that helps you move.
